What the report shows
Most platforms give you one set of totals for the whole account or backtest. The Entry Analysis report splits those same trades by the market conditions at entry and ranks each slice by what it made or cost, with the number of trades behind it so you can judge how much weight it deserves.
Session
Asian, London and New York, so you can see whether one session carries the strategy and another quietly drains it.
Weekday
Monday to Friday side by side, which shows whether a weak day is a pattern or a handful of bad trades.
Time of day
Results by entry hour, useful when a strategy behaves differently around the open, the close or a news window.
Volatility
Trades grouped by how volatile the market was at entry, so you can tell whether the edge needs movement or prefers quiet conditions.
Symbol and direction
Each instrument and each side (long or short) on its own, for strategies that run on more than one market.
Alongside the breakdowns you get the headline numbers (P&L, win rate, expectancy, average return, largest win and loss) and a short written summary of what stands out.
An example finding
Illustrative only, not a real customer result.
Picture a breakout strategy on an index future that looks profitable overall. The session breakdown shows most of the profit comes from the New York open, while entries taken during the Asian session lose money more often than they make it. The report puts that slice near the top of where the strategy loses, with its trade count next to it.
If the slice holds enough trades to trust (our guide on backtest sample size covers how many), the next step is a session filter. You can test it on the same trades in Simulations before you change the strategy itself.
Your data
The trades you upload are used to build your report. Tessera does not sell your data or use it for advertising, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
The only AI step writes the summary text. It receives aggregated statistics from the report, not your name, email address or credentials, and your trading data is not used to train any AI model. Full details are in the privacy policy.
Free Entry Analysis report FAQ
Is the Entry Analysis report really free?
Yes. The report is free and needs no credit card. Tessera also has a Free plan with no card needed. Paid plans, with reports, simulations, Pine Script export and Launchpad, start at $39 a month, but you do not need one to get the report.
Which brokers and platforms does it work with?
Every broker and platform Tessera supports. Sync Liquid Brokers, OANDA, Interactive Brokers, cTrader or Binance Spot directly, or upload an export from TradingView (Strategy Tester or Paper Trading), MetaTrader 4 or 5, Tradovate, NinjaTrader or Hyperliquid. Anything else works through the Custom CSV importer, so any spreadsheet of your trades can be analysed.
All supported brokers and platformsDoes it work on live trades or only backtests?
Both. Run it on live or demo trades from a synced broker or an account history export, or on backtest results such as a TradingView Strategy Tester List of Trades. The report reads closed trades either way.
How to export TradingView Strategy Tester resultsIs Tessera a backtester?
No. Tessera does not generate new trades from historical data. It analyses the trades your strategy already took, in a backtest export or a live account, and shows which market conditions made or lost money.
What happens to the trades I upload?
They are used to build your report. Tessera does not sell your data or use it for advertising, and your trading data is not used to train any AI model. The only AI step writes the summary text, and it receives aggregated statistics, not your name, email or credentials.
